Intro: Yamamoto’s First Day at Komoriya

“So Chrome is a part of it then? Hahaha! I never would’ve guessed! Do you bite people to death?” It would be an interesting thing to see…

He started laughing again just thinking about it. Picturing Chrome with tonfas and threatening students like Hibari… Too funny! “Chrome has to show me how she patrols the school sometime!” Well of course, after he was settled in a bit and if she was allowed to do it.

Yamamoto definitely didn’t want her getting in trouble. Him either, for that matter. Being bitten to death was never fun! If Hibari was there… He had to be, right? That was his badge! Or, well… identical to it, anyway. “Is Hibari here too then?” It would be nice seeing him again, it had been a while. Though… it was hard picturing the other boy leaving Namimori.

All of that had to be said and done first before Chrome’s question about the dorm finally sunk in. That’s right! That had been where he had originally been going with this…

“Oh yeah! Hahaha! Almost forgot. But yup! I was looking for my dorm. Maybe Chrome knows where dorm seven is?” Oh… and maybe along the way she would need to discipline some people?

“Hai.. Hibari-san is here.”

As for biting people to death.. not so much. The Skylark did that enough as it is, no need to add more to that body count.

It wasn’t in the petite girl to beat people senseless, cruelly, heartlessly, mercilessly. Not especially when they’ve done nothing wrong.

.. not that she would’ve done anything if they wronged her. If it was her friends that would be an entirely different story all on its own.

“I.. only know where the boy’s dormitories are..”

She hasn’t really been in there, so she wouldn’t really know. But since she was technically an officer of sorts, it should be okay, right? The layout should be the same as the girl’s after all..

“I could.. show the rain guardian if he’d like?”

Yamamoto hadn’t really been expecting the person he was addressing to actually be someone he knew. But once he got closer, he noticed that familiar red badge and when they turned around, well… he had to do a double-take.

He stared for a moment, shock temporarily overtaking him. That was… “Chrome?! Hahaha! Chrome is here too?!” Oh wow, what were the chances of that?

Yamamoto was all smiles now, moving to get closer to his friend/fellow-guardian. “I didn’t expect to see Chrome here? Did you maybe get a scholarship too?”

For the moment his dorm dilemma was forgotten, the excitement of having a friend attending Komoriya with him now his number one concern.

He did wonder though… why was Chrome wearing that badge Hibari wore? “Is Chrome maybe part of the Disciplinary Committee too?” It didn’t really seem like her, but… high school changed people, right?

— technically she was, wasn’t she? She was ‘recruited’ by Hibari, in a sense, after all. It was an odd occurance, but she only held the position so that people wouldn’t bother her.

So she nods a bit at his questions. She nearly forgot that he was the talkative one. So many questions at once, but she’ll just answer that with a nod. It applied to everything anyway, sort of.

“Ah..”

She chewed on her inner cheek, fumbling over her words a bit in her head before finally glancing up— his ridiculously tall frame making her actually needing to tilt her head back a little to meet his gaze. She was a little short for her age.

“You.. needed to get to your dorm?”

He’s rambling, gotta put him back on track before they both forgot what he was calling her for in the first place.

Yamamoto had just finished his last year of junior high and was now ready to enter Namimori High with the rest of his friends; it was the expected thing to do. Well… that is until he received this scholarship to a new school called Komoriya High. It seemed like a really nice school, big and filled with many great teachers and promising students.

That’s what seemed to confuse him though… He didn’t exactly have the best grades; passing, yes, thanks to Gokudera and his tutoring with him and Tsuna. (Too caught up in baseball to really pay attention in class) He certainly didn’t see how he was worthy of getting a free ride to such a pristine, private school.

And although it seemed too good to be true, he had accepted the offer, figuring it had something to do with his skills in baseball. What else could it be? His ties to the mafia or the fact that he was the successor of the Shigure Soen Ryu style or Vongola’s Rain Guardian never crossed his mind. It was a school, after all.

If it weren’t his father’s encouragement, he probably would’ve went with his heart and stuck with Namimori High. He didn’t want to leave his friends or family behind… But they all wanted what was best for him, so after a lot of convincing on their part, he finally decided to take advantage of the scholarship.

A couple weeks later he finds himself standing outside the large high school, looking up to it in awe with his new uniform on and a couple suitcases in hand. (The rest had already been delivered to his dorm)

“Its huge…” He stood there a few moments longer, moving when he saw a few students walking inside the gates. He followed them, stopping again when they each went into their respective buildings.

Hm… Were those the dorms? His suitcases were put down, the map to the school pulled out to locate where he was and where he should be headed. Only problem was… he wasn’t exactly sure where he was. “Hahaha! Guess I’m lost.”

Not exactly the best way to start out his high school career, but… hopefully someone would lend him a hand? He spots another student and picks up his bags again to approach them, smiling a little bashfully.

“Yo! Sorry to ask, but… Do you know where dorm 7 is? Haha! I’m kinda lost!”

At the age of sixteen Chrome had grown quite a lot and evolved— she had changed from the lanky teenager that she was when she was 13 to an older, more mature version of herself after being a guardian for three years.

Needless to say, she had let her hair grow out a little, still in the odd bun every now and then, but otherwise neatly kept, her uniform pristine and ironed out with the bright red band pinned to her arm— signifying her membership in the Disciplinary Committee that she felt she was forced into.

Not that she minded now, to be honest, people learned to leave her alone.

Now she was simply wandering the halls, not quite wanting to go back to her own room or anywhere else. Simply wanting to explore the rather gargantuan facility. It was a lot different from Namimori, that’s for sure.

—?

That voice sounded familiar..

Turning around, a lone doe hue blinked, recognizing the rain guardian from afar. Was he calling out to her?

Ah.

“Rain guardian..”

There’s a hint of a smile upon her lips, nodding a bit. She wouldn’t mind helping out a fellow guardian, considering the fact that he’s done so much for her, even though they didn’t really talk much.

She wants to defend him even if it wasn’t needed. To put her life on the line even if he’s capable of protecting himself.
